Web Design Concept

.Net Magazine: Above The Fold 2012

Positioning creativity and imagination at the top.

I was approached by the popular .NET magazine in the UK to participate in their monthly “build off” future. The brief was to come up with a concept design for a web related event website. This could be anything from a small local meetup to a specialist workshop, to a major conference.

So I came up with ‘Above The Fold’.

Based on the popular term in web design that refers to a website’s part that is first visible without scrolling, ‘Above The Fold’ is an event with the main purpose to inspire and spark discussions on how creativity and imagination can be pushed more to the focus for complimenting functionality in unique and impressive ways. Selected speakers will be invited to discuss and share their thoughts and methodologies on how this can be accomplished within their respected fields.

The design concept visually reflects the contrast between the creative front-end and the structural back-end of a website. By adding simple interactivity for exploring the contrast between these two areas we manage to deliver the key message of what this event is all about.
